Wow Brentwood!!!
I’ve never experienced Brentwood services like today. Yes, it was packed full of people (1300) and blowing up with energy, but more than anything, over 100 people packed the stage to break free and confess their sins and secrets, or walk the line with someone else.
So stoked about our church and what God is doing.
That’s what we have to always be about, helping liberate people with our own liberation stories. I’ll admit, it was really awkward towards the end of the first service. I shared my liberation story, put it out there and no one came. Then I said it again, “Stop denying sin and suppressing secrets. Come down here, break free and confess.”
Silence. Stillness. Nothing.
I could literally hear the enemy say to me, “See, God’s truth has no power here. And you shared your story for nothing.” But then one lone person broke through the pride and haze. He walked the long line to freedom and his courage opened the flood gates. Man, it was humbling to see so many, service after service, follow that one guy’s lead.
Here’s the deal, just like the Apostle Paul says, “If we clearly present truth and live it out authentically, then unbelieving people will walk in our church, recognize their sins and worship God.” (1 Cor 14:23, 24)
That’s who we were today.
One girl approached me after the third service and said she surrendered to Christ today. Her story was beautiful. Last night she said God told her to go to church and give her life to Jesus. Her hands were shaking through the entire closing song. She broke, obeyed, confessed and entered life and eternity with freedom. Yes, you can do a backflip right now.
Love being a part of this. Love serving with you all.
Onward!
